PSOFT anti-aliasing for Adobe Photoshop

PSOFT anti-aliasing is a filter plug-in for Adobe Photoshop. It produces images that look dramatically smoother and more natural by suppressing jaggies.

Great Help for Design Work

Helps to streamline visual design work such as the finishing of digitized line drawings or CG coloration. Eliminates the need to “reduce jaggies by scaling down images” which was, until now, a common step in the processing of images ranging from high resolution illustrations destined to printed media to images used in games and video. This plugin makes it possible to use a uniform image resolution level from the moment work is started to the completion of the final result.

Illustration processing

Useful for the finishing work on digitized line drawings and CG coloration. Also effective on high resolution materials.

Takes care of pixels lost during filter processing

Suitable for suppressing jaggies resulting from the use of the “graphic pen”, “sponge” and other Photoshop filters.

Produces smooth images from game screen shots and pixel art

Performs anti-aliasing processing on jagged images to obtain smooth images.

Same anti-aliasing effect as the After Effects version

Applies anti-aliasing to still images using the same algorithm as the one used in the After Effects version.

Demonstration Movie

This movie demonstrates the use of the plug-in under Adobe Photoshop. (Please watch in enlarged mode).

It shows high speed anti-aliasing processing for the RGB channels as well as the opacity.

Interface

color threshold
This value defines the difference in color required for neighboring pixels to be treated as having different colors.
A lower value will cause the software to respond to smaller differences in color.
Using a bigger value is recommended when handling images containing gradation or noise.
User Interface
softness
Adjusts the strength of the processing.
Increase the value for an increased level of jaggies suppression.
Decrease the value to obtain a sharper image.
bias
Adjusts the processing of the contrast in gradation parts.
If set to a high value, a nonlinear interpolation function is used in the computation of the blend concentration for the gradation processing.
If the value is set to 0, a linear interpolation is performed. Using a value other than 0 results in degradation of the processing speed.
