CHRONOStream

CHRONOStream2 Ver.2.3 released and compatible with Windows Vista 32-bit.

CHRONOStream® shifts pitches with no time length changes, and modifies playback speed with no pitch shift. It outperforms other traditional time stretch and pitch scaling software in processing speed and sound quality.

The latest version, CHRONOStream®2DX (a DirectX plug-in), is 700% faster than the initial version, features the new RHYTHM algorithm and the Formant Control function.

Flexibly controls sound lengths and pitches.

CHRONOStream shifts pitches with no time length changes, and modifies playback speed with no pitch shift. The software is used mainly for audio data creation but also for other purposes such as musical and video production.

Musicians and artists use the software to adjust the tempo of various songs and other materials, and to edit mastering data of musical instrument performances.

Video editing needs time stretching and pitch shifting to incorporate narration and background music and to make vocal tones higher or lower.

For dance and theater performances, time stretch is generally used for speeding data playback up and down.

CHRONOStream Features

Loads audio data (wav, mp3 and wma formats)

  • to adjust playback speed with no pitch shift.
  • to adjust pitch with no playback speed change.
  • to save modified data.

The Best Sound Quality

CHRONOStream, built on PHISYX sound technology (originally developed by PSOFT), outperforms other traditional time stretch and pitch scaling software in processing speed and sound quality, making it an invaluable tool for professionals.

CHRONOStream is based on cutting edge time and pitch scaling (*1) technology, providing natural sound quality for a wide range of applications: data tempo adjustment without pitch shift, pitch shifting without tempo modification, speeding data playback and speech-speed alteration.

The software is a must for those who seek the best sound quality.

Practical Uses

sound edit usefor sound creation
You can adjust the tempo and key of songs and other material. Ideal for use in audio recording studios.
meeting usefor meetings
You can play recorded lectures and book readings on slow-forward. Also, capture data contents and listen to it on fast-forward.
visual usefor visuals
You can accurately time narration and BGM to fit visual time lengths without recording original audio data, so that editing work efficiency is greatly improved.
lesson usefor lessons
You can learn foreign languages listening to material at a speed that suits you. Also, use it to listen to instrumental performances to practice.

*1 What is "Time stretch and pitch shift" technology?

Time stretch means modifying playback speed without affecting the pitch. Pitch shift means altering sound tones without affecting playback speed.

Fast/slow-forwarding on tape players cause a degradation of sound quality. When you speed data up, for example, the tone goes up and when you speed it down, the tone goes down. Time stretch and pitch shift technology fixes these problems.

Play time modification can serve several purposes. Some use it for playing lecture recordings or videotapes on fast-forward while others use it for listening slower to what a speaker says on an answering machine.

In professional music fields, people use it for matching tempos between multiple audio samples. Pitch shift is also applied as a musical editing tool to rearrange keys, and produce different tones.
