Sendai, Japan - September 7, 2010 - P SOFTHOUSE (location: Sendai city, Miyagi prefecture, Japan, CEO: Keiki HATAKEYAMA) is proud to announce the release, on September 7, of the English language version of "PSOFT Pencil+ 3", a non-photorealistic shader plug-in for 3ds Max which produces strokes similar to those seen in pencil sketches.
The development of Pencil+ 3 was based on feedback from various production sites, especially film production companies, and emphasis was put on providing ways to optimize work and improve productivity. This latest version of Pencil+ introduces camera modifiers, enhancements to render elements output and more, offering new kinds of expression and new ways of working.
About Pencil+ 3
Pencil+ 3 is a non-photorealistic shader plug-in for 3ds Max which produces strokes similar to those seen in pencil sketches. It produces images that look like pen drawings or color pencils as well as flat presentations similar to animation cels. It makes it possible to reproduce in 3D the distinctive art style of Japanese animation and illustrations.
What's New in Pencil+ 3
Improvements were made to the core of the material and line computations, making it possible to implement render element output with a high level of freedom while preserving the high rendering speed of materials and lines. Furthermore, the addition of the Modifier features enables advanced perspective control; a previously difficult task in 3DCGs. This feature makes it possible to modify the lens according to the distance to the camera or to move vanishing points arbitrarily.
